We Heart America!

It was 4th of July weekend and I did not get one picture of a firework, my Dad's humongous triple water slide, my kids cute outfits, or even the American flag for Pete's sake.  I think it was because we were too busy playing!  We haven't seen everyone for a while so we tried to get in anything and everything.  We got to PG at 7 on Friday night and Colt went to go hang with his football buddies and it ended in an all night trip to Wyoming.  Colt and Bryan came home with every firework ever made.  They bought rockets for the opening of their show, but what they forgot to inform us was that one of the rocket's wings came off so they hot-glued it.  Let's just say we didn't need the Stadium of Fire because we had our own little flyover that landed right in the woodpile in the backyard.  I will never miss a 4th at the Sampsons, it is way too entertaining.  I don't think anything will beat last year though when Westin put a bucket over his head and everyone got a free shot at him with a bottle rocket.  Anyway....we had a blast watching fireworks, floating down the irrigation ditch, celebrating Mini's birthday, clogging the slide at the PG pool, and playing on the giant water slide that not any normal man would have in his backyard.  We are still trying to recover.  Enjoy the random pics from the weekend.  There are some good ones!

Yes, that is Bryan and yes that is a metal detector.  There were about 10 divots in the backyard because Colt, Nate and Bryan tried to find hidden treasures back there.  Sorry for posting this Cindy! HA!  She begged me not to.

Lauren and Skye on the cruiser scooter.  Beautiful form Lauren.

BFFs!
Don't know what that text was, but it was obviously upsetting.
32! What next!
I always find one of these on my camera when I leave it sitting around....
and one of these....
and one of these.
FYI...CJ loves food now!  He grabbed the cup from me because I wasn't feeding him fast enough.

Cedar City where it's mighty pretty!

Our homemade fire pit
The two lovebirds!

My cute hubby who is now the YM President!  Good luck with that!

Our summer girl!

The keeper of the garden

This post is a little late, but we have been stinking busy!  Our garden is growing like a weed! Ha!  We have already enjoyed radishes which we ate 2 of (Colt got a little plant happy), peas, and a couple cherry tomatoes.  Our squash, cucumbers and pumpkins are taking off, and the tomatoes are looking great!  I know that you are thrilled to hear about the garden!  We also enjoyed our yard so much with the roses and iris and peonies.  I never thought I would enjoy a yard as much as I have.  It's pretty fun.  Colt has worked really hard to keep it looking nice.

The sunsets are awesome here

We have enjoyed living in Cedar so much.  It is definitely a lot different than Salt Lake.  It takes 5 minutes tops to get anywhere you want to go.  We miss Salt Lake sometimes, but it has been so nice to slow things down a bit.  They have something going on every single weekend here.  We went to the Summer Games opening ceremonies and Skye loved it!  We let her run wild and she danced her little heart out.  Colt and I also played basketball in the Games, but I sprained my ankle the first game and Colt single-handily lost the game to get into the playoffs, once in regulation and once in overtime.  Let's just say he muffed a dunk and missed the game winning 3.  The glory days are over.....I just don't have the heart to tell Colt.
